The decision to include 1st grade flour in the list of exchange commodities will be suspended

By the decision of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the decision to include flour of the 1st grade in the list of exchange commodities will be suspended.

The launch of the exchange trading system was discussed at the meeting of Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev with Serik Zhumangarin, the chairman of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition. At the same time, the president did not agree with the earlier decision to trade flour through the exchange.

“Taking into account the peculiarities of the formation of the flour market and its export potential, the head of state made a decision on the premature inclusion of flour in the list of exchange commodities,” the press service informed.

Earlier, experts said that the sale of flour through the exchange would lead to an increase in its cost by about $ 1,000 per 500 tons. In addition, flour is a branded product, and therefore, in world practice, it is not included in the list of exchange commodities.
