Akim of Nur-Sultan Altai Kulginov spoke about the work on expanding the network of rehabilitation centers in the capital, the official website of the city akimat reports.

“In the capital, we are systematically working to expand the network of rehabilitation centers. Such medical centers make it possible not only to maintain the health of the townspeople but also to see the positive results of rehabilitation. It is important for us to socialize people with disabilities so that they feel comfortable in society.

In the capital, we will build a sports complex for people with special needs. We plan to introduce such disciplines there: football for the visually impaired, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, etc. The new sports complex will be located next to the Paralympic Training Center. Thus, in this sports complex, the townspeople will be able to play sports, communicate with people, and socialize in society. Which, undoubtedly, should benefit physical health.

In addition, in the first half of this year, we will open a specialized kindergarten for children with visual impairments. The institution is designed for 90 places, located in the Saryarka region (Kenesary street 9/1).

For example, only last year a number of large rehabilitation centers were opened that deal with the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy, autism, Down’s syndrome, etc. The new Asyl Miras autism center (Valikhanov St.) made it possible to reach 50% more children with disorders autism spectrum. This project was implemented jointly with the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. In the same house, another rehabilitation center deals with children diagnosed with cerebral palsy, autism and a number of other diseases. There are also rehabilitation centers “Erekshe balalar”, “Horde”, etc.

With the support of the Fund of the First President and Samruk-Kazyna, the Kamkorlyk rehabilitation center was opened on the basis of the city children’s hospital №1 last fall. This makes it possible to annually provide free medical care to about 600 children with cerebral palsy.

At the 5th meeting of the National Council of Public Trust, the head of state noted that the number of children with special needs is growing, they need comprehensive rehabilitation, “it is necessary to strengthen the activities of social services in primary health care organizations.”

the KSU “Psychological, medical and pedagogical consultation No. 3 was opened”In the social housing estate according to Aitmatov (31B). For these purposes, 4 thousand square meters have been allocated. The center is engaged in the examination and assistance of children with hearing impairments, musculoskeletal system, vision, speech, communication, and behavior of children.

In different districts of the city, 29 Doctor at the House facilities were opened, the number of invata taxis was doubled.
