Society of Kazakhstan Study Experts Created in Japan
“Kazakhstan today: continuity and development prospects” a round table was held as part of the inaugural meeting of the Society of Experts on the Study of Kazakhstan. The expert society included representatives of scientific, academic and business circles, as well as representatives of the media and NGOs who intend to conduct research and provide expert advice to deepen bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Japan. Among them are the Japanese ambassadors who worked in Kazakhstan over the years, professors from the Waseda, Ritsumeikan, Teikyo, and Musashino universities.
During the first meeting, Japanese experts discussed the situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the country’s strategy to combat the coronavirus crisis and restore economic growth.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Japan, Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, acquainted the participants with the political and socio-economic reforms carried out in the country in accordance with the main provisions of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K. Tokayev.
The focus of the expert discussion was the specificity of a model of continuity of power, unique for Central Asia, during which the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, who made a great contribution to the establishment of a sovereign state, laid the foundation for the constitutionality of the transfer of power – one of the main conditions of statehood.
Chairman of the Society, Professor Emeritus at Ritsumeikan University Kei Karasawa made a report, during which he praised the implementation of the concept of the “Hearing State” and the establishment of a new platform for dialogue with civil society – the National Council of Public Confidence to ensure social and economic stability.
Former Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003-2005) Toshio Tsunozaki noted the successful efforts of Kazakhstan to support the national economy, to preserve the income of the population in the post epidemic recovery strategy.
