For the uninterrupted supply of food and essential goods to the population, on behalf of Akim Amandyk Batalov, an additional 2 billion tenge were allocated from the budget, the press service of the akim of Almaty region reports.

Of these, 1 billion tenge – to conduct a procurement intervention of socially significant food products and 1 billion tenge – loans for businesses. With the allocated funds, it is planned to additionally purchase 5.9 thousand tons of flour, 100 tons of rice, 20 tons of horns, 5 thousand liters of sunflower oil, 1000 tons of sugar, 200 tons of potatoes, 100 tons of onions and 1 ton of salt. In order to curb the price of bread, in the 4th quarter of 2019, agency agreements were signed for the supply of first-grade wheat flour with 52 bakeries; 260 million tenge were allocated from “Zhetysu” JV for these purposes.  Approved the basic conditions for the provision of a loan. Currently, the work is underway to select business entities.

Memoranda of cooperation have been concluded with such commodity producers as Alel Agro LLP (poultry meat), Sary-Bulak LLP (chicken eggs), Ushtobe-Aydin LLP (dairy products), Nur Agro LLP (onion) and livestock complex LLP “MPS” (beef meat). According to the concluded memorandums of the “Zhetysu” JV, producers will provide retail facilities in the region with essential food items at reduced prices. A list of shopping facilities has been compiled, which will sell cheapened goods, to date, 17 stores have been identified. The selling prices of suppliers for the above goods are below the market by 10-15%.

At the same time, there are 295 social retail outlets, 141 fruits of vegetable stores in 174.3 thousand tons, 100 greenhouses with a total area of ​​96 hectares, 103 feedlots (25.6 thousand tons of meat per year) and 76 dairy farms ( 87 thousand tons of milk).

Work to prevent price increases for socially significant goods continues and is under special control of the akim of the region.
