Implementation of the agreements following the visit of Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev to Berlin

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan held talks with the Coordinator of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany for cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership countries, the deputy of the German Bundestag, Dirk Wiese.
The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on December 5, 2019, as well as prospects for cooperation at the interregional level. Mutual readiness in enhancing trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany was emphasized.
M. Baimukhan noted that the first European visit of the Head of State allowed the conclusion of commercial agreements totaling $ 2.4 billion. The Kazakh diplomat suggested that the German side at the level of EU states support the issue of facilitating a visa regime with respect to Kazakhstan, which would serve to further intensify bilateral cooperation in the economic, educational and cultural spheres.
In his turn, D.Vise informed that the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K. Tokayev, showed the mutual interest of the parties in deepening the Kazakh-German partnership. “We support and are ready to assist in the implementation of reforms currently underway in Kazakhstan,” the German diplomat said.
An important issue during the discussion was the humanitarian aspect of bilateral relations. The parties noted that Kazakh-German cooperation has a special dimension in the face of the large German diaspora in Kazakhstan and the large community of former Kazakh Germans in Germany, which have become a kind of “bridge of friendship” between our countries. The governments of the two countries are actively working to create the most favorable conditions for their citizens.
The parties agreed to continue to maintain the current dynamics of contacts in order to further develop multifaceted cooperation.
