Favorable conditions have been created for issuing train tickets for persons with disabilities
From July 1, 2019, a complete transition to the “Mobius” new system for issuing travel tickets has been made. The introduced electronic system has significantly improved the conditions for purchasing tickets for the population. And also, new functionalities have appeared, such as the “Waiting List”, which allows the passenger to create an application if there are no seats. After the seats appear, the passenger receives a notification (in case of ticket return) by e-mail. In this case, the replacement of passenger data is not possible. Thus, the possibility of replacing passengers is excluded.
At the same time, in August 2019, changes were made to the Passenger Transportation Rules, according to which persons of all groups of disabilities, as well as children with disabilities, are granted a discount on travel on socially significant messages in the amount of 50% of the cost of a travel document (ticket).
In commercial trains “Tulpar-Talgo”, at the discretion of the carrier, a 70% discount is established for specialized seats for people with disabilities.
In addition, from June 26 of the current year, a new service for online issuance of discount tickets has appeared on the bilet.railways.kz website for persons with disabilities.
To issue discount tickets online, the passenger must register at the ticket office of Passenger Transportation JSC (once) and receive a “Meiirim” electronic discount card with a unique set of symbols. After registration, the passenger can buy tickets online at a reduced cost without leaving home … The electronic card is valid for one year from the moment of its activation, while its further prolongation will be carried out without re-receiving the application from the passenger.
