Final shootings of the “AMRE” feature film devoted to Amre Kashaubayev’s triumph in Paris in 1925 have taken place in Almaty region on a dzhaylyaa Ushkonyr.
We will remind, JSC Kazakhfilm of Sh. Aymanov, the film producer and the investor Alidar Utemuratov together with the Hollywood producers Cary Granat and the owner of an award Oscar Ad Jones (Ed Jones) by request of the Ministry of Culture and sport of RK have started implementation of the film project under the working name “AMRE” which shootings started in Latvia (Riga) on July 23.
– The movie “Amre”, one of the first projects realized within a new format of a coproduction Kazakhstan – the USA. We very much want that our culture, our Amre and our dombra were known not only in our country, but also around the world. We plan to release a picture in the international hire in 2017, – the executive producer Ania Chakirtova has told.
The movie “Amre” narrates about the bright, but short and mysteriously broken life of the Kazakh nugget – the drama tenor Amre Kashaubayev (1888-1934). He first-ever has presented to the European public vocal performing art of Kazakhs and the national tool – a dombra at the World musical competition in Paris in 1925 where 36-year-old Amre as the actor of delegation of the USSR, has created a furor, has won the II place and a silver medal. The movie will also tell about Amre and Moustapha Chokaya’s fatal meeting, about Amre’s acquaintance to the jazz genius George Gershvin and about tests which waited for Kashaubayev in the homeland after return.
In the movie the Kazakh songs from Amre’s repertoire will be heard: Baladish, Srzhekey, “Үш DOS”, “Dudaray”, “Zhalyz of an arsh”, “Demon arager”, “Aash ая қ” and “y-ə й bpy”.
The international film crew was headed by the American production director Jeff Vespa, the operator – Maxim Osadchiy (“the 9th company”, Stalingrad). Scriptwriter Benjamin A. van der Win (Benjamin A. van der Veen). In the movie the Kazakhstan stars have got leading roles to Sanjar Madiyev (Amre) and the owner Priza for Best Actor of the Moscow Film Festival to Erkebulan Dairov (Moustapha Chokay).
– Before shootings I learned to play on a dombra. In it I was helped by Nurzhan Tazhikenov, one their best musicians with Kazakhstan. Also I was engaged in a vocal, – the actor Sanjar Madiyev has shared.
The popular British actor Ben Aldridge, the American actress Abbie Cornish famous according to the movie “Area of Darkness” and others have also taken part in shootings.
