RESEARCH OF THE KAZNU SCIENTIST WILL BE CONTINUED IN THE USA

The Research Center for Medicinal Plants of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has begun joint work with scientists from the University of Mississippi in the USA.
Recently, on the basis of the research center with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and the Chairman of the Board – the Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuymebaev, a small production facility was opened to develop innovative products based on plant materials.
One of the center’s popular products is a dietary supplement against influenza and COVID-19 viruses. The composition of the natural tincture prepared in 2020 includes plants that improve lung function, have an expectorant, blood-thinning, splitting cholesterol in the blood, and improving blood circulation effect. In addition, the tool restores energy and healthy sleep.
Director of the Center Zhanar Zhenis recently made a special visit to the University of Mississippi to study in depth the active effects of this mixture on covid. As a result of this trip and research, biological products manufactured on the basis of KazNU will be comprehensively studied in modern laboratories of the US University, and its therapeutic effect in other diseases will be determined. “Our goal is to isolate the main biologically active compounds in the composition of the prepared mixture, improve its structure and study the pharmacological activity. Currently, an in-depth study of the covid activity of the mixture against influenza and COVID-19 is being carried out jointly with scientists from the University of Mississippi with our researcher Zhanna Akzhigitova,” says the author of the project, Professor Zhanar Zhenis. Scientists of the center have been studying the properties of medicinal plants for 20 years. Previously, supplements were produced that protect against influenza and liver diseases and increase immunity, as well as herbal teas that reduce blood sugar levels, regulate blood pressure, improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal system and increase immunity.
