Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolences to Joseph Biden

he President of Kazakhstan received the news of numerous human casualties as a result of the tragedy in New Orleans with deep sorrow. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in a telegram addressed to US President Joseph Biden strongly condemned this monstrous act of violence. The head of our state, on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and on his own behalf, expressed sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
2025 New Orleans truck attack
On January 1, 2025, at around 3:15 a.m. CST (UTC–6), a man drove a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, then exited the truck and engaged in a shootout with police before being fatally shot. Fifteen people were killed, including the perpetrator, and at least thirty-five others were injured, including two police officers who were shot. The attack occurred during New Year celebrations in the city, which was scheduled to host the 2025 Sugar Bowl later that day.
