“KNOWLEDGE TRIANGLE” BETWEEN HIGHER EDUCATION, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION: KAZAKHSTAN-GERMAN PARTNERSHIP IN MANGISTAU
Yessenov University together with the Kazakh-German University are working on the creation of a “Joint Institute of Engineering” in Aktau. As part of a joint initiative, a round table was held at Yessenov University on the topic “Kazakhstan-German cooperation for the sustainable development of the Mangistau region in the field of engineering”.
The purpose of the round table, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, experts in the field of logistics and energy from leading universities in Germany, the German Vice Ambassador to Kazakhstan, representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Representative Office of the German-Swedish company SVEVIND in Kazakhstan – identifying prospects and broadcasting the best German practices, discussing the relevance in training high-quality engineering specialists, taking into account the needs of the economy, strengthening professional, scientific and cultural cooperation between German universities and Yessenov University.
From the new academic year, the joint institute of engineering will begin to accept and train students in the specialties “Logistics” and “Energy and Environmental Engineering” in English and German. As a result of the training, students will receive double diplomas and triple diplomas in 8 undergraduate specialties, 6 master’s specialties. Until 2030, it is planned to train a thousand students and prepare the necessary personnel for the Green Hydrogen project in the Mangistau region.
