MLSPP revealed over 1.9 thousand violations of the rights of persons with disabilities
“For 6 months of 2021, in the course of inspections carried out by the regional departments of the Labor, Social Protection and Migration Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1918 violations of the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On social protection of disabled people” and “On special social services” were revealed at 379 social infrastructure facilities”,- the press-service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
In total, in the first half of the year, 469 control measures were carried out to identify violations at facilities in the areas of public administration, health care, culture and transport services, including ensuring an accessible environment for persons with disabilities. At the same time, 312 inspections were initiated within the framework of planned preventive control and 157 unscheduled ones, carried out on the basis of submitted applications from citizens. As a result of the inspections, 1603 violations of the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On social protection of disabled people” and 315 violations of the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On special social services” were revealed. At the same time, more than 1.5 thousand violations are associated with the failure to provide disabled people with access to social and transport infrastructure, cultural and entertainment organizations and sports facilities. As a result of inspections, 379 orders were issued to eliminate the identified violations in the field of social protection of persons with disabilities and the provision of special social services to them, of which 71 were imposed administrative fines for a total amount of about 7.4 million tenge.
