The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan took part in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum
Antalya, June 18-19, 2021
– At the invitation of the Government of Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdy took part in the first Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
The forum was attended by representatives of more than 100 international organizations, diplomats from different countries, non-governmental organizations and experts.
President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the opening ceremony. In his speech, he noted the growing importance of diplomacy as a factor in preventing conflicts and disagreements in the world.
“The legacy of a bipolar world cannot solve human problems. “The habits of the past and the narrow circle of perceptions do not bring humanity closer to solving modern problems,” he said.
M. Tleuberdy addressed the panel session “Fight against extremism and discrimination” and was joined by Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Johnny Messo, President of the World Council of Aramaeans, Mehmet Pachaci, Chief Scientific Adviser of the European Commission Alberto Melloni, Deva Maria Sait Suzin, a representative of the Syrian Orthodox Church Foundation.
In his speech, the Minister spoke about Kazakhstan’s initiatives to combat extremism and discrimination on ethnic and religious grounds. In particular, he informed about the activities of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, as well as the priorities of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the CICA.
As part of the event, he met with M. UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenca, with High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations M. Tleuberdy Moratinos, with Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait – Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed Nasser al-Sabah, Head of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, President of the Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage Gunay Afandieva, as well as representatives of major Turkish businesses – TAI, with the President of the State Aerospace Company Temel Kotil and Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan, President of Chalyk Holding Ahmet Chalyk.
