Confirmation of disability in the presence of irreversible anatomical defects
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan informs in what cases persons with disabilities who have irreversible anatomical defects need to undergo re-examination and confirm this fact.
According to the current legislation, with anatomical defects, disability is established indefinitely (List of irreversible anatomical defects – Appendix 5 to the Rules for Medical and Social Expertise).
In some cases, in order to undergo medical rehabilitation, disability is established for a more severe group (I and II groups), but for a certain period.
For example, in case of amputation of a leg at the level of the lower leg, the III group of disability is imposed indefinitely. However, when complications are identified that aggravate the state of human health (ulcers on the stump, osteophytes, etc.) for medical rehabilitation measures, a II disability group is established for a period of 6 months or 1 year. With positive dynamics after the treatment and rehabilitation measures carried out, the III group of disability is established indefinitely.
