For the outpatient treatment of COVID-19 the necessary medicines will be provided free of charge
Patients diagnosed with COVID-19, with a mild course of the disease, regardless of the results of the PCR test, will be able to receive antipyretics and anticoagulants free of charge as prescribed by the attending physician in the clinics at the place of attachment.
The Ministry of Health approved the inclusion of 5 drugs – Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, and anticoagulants Rivaroxaban, Apixaban and Dabigatran into the protocol for the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection.
These medicines can be obtained from pharmacies at medical organizations at the place of attachment. To do this, if you have symptoms similar to the manifestations of coronavirus infection, you need to contact your clinic. When diagnosing COVID-19, regardless of the results of the PCR test, the attending physician (general practitioner or local therapist), according to indications, will prescribe treatment and write an electronic prescription for the most suitable drugs. Further, by presenting a prescription and an identity document at the pharmacy at the polyclinic at the place of attachment, the patient will be able to receive medicines for free.
If the prescribed drugs are not available, the patient must contact the SC-Pharmacy contact center for free drug provision 1439 (free from mobile and city numbers). Operators will understand the causes of the problem and assist in providing the necessary drugs.
“Each region has applied for the volumes of drugs that should be enough to treat patients on an outpatient basis. Starting this week, Kazakhstanis will be able to receive these medicines in polyclinics. Sections have been added to information systems so that doctors can prescribe medicines for the treatment of coronavirus infection and write prescriptions, ”said Yerkhat Iskaliyev, Chairman of the Board of SC-Pharmacia LLP.
Note that Apiksaban and Dabigatran have no registered analogs in Kazakhstan. They are purchased directly from manufacturers. Previously, these drugs were used mainly for inpatient care, and they are available in the warehouses of SC-Pharmacia in sufficient quantities. In addition, the domestic Nobel plant of the Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory has successfully registered and established the production of Rivaroxaban, which will be supplied to polyclinics under the trade name Rivarox. The drug has already arrived at SC-Pharmacy warehouses and is being shipped to polyclinics.
“Launching production at a domestic plant is an opportunity to quickly and efficiently saturate the domestic market with a drug in demand. The economic effect is also obvious – the cost of a domestically produced drug is 40% lower than that of a foreign one, ”said Yerkhat Iskaliyev, Chairman of the Board of SC-Pharmacy LLP.
He also said that at the moment, only the drug Paracetamol remained in the procurement process, which, until the completion of the procurement procedures, can be replaced by the available Ibuprofen.
