PARTICIPATION IN THE OPENING CEREMONY OF «ТӘУЕЛСІЗДІКТІҢ 25 ЖЫЛДЫҒЫ» MONUMENT

During the solemn ceremony the Head of the State noted that a new architectural monument “Тәуелсіздіктің 25 жылдығы” (25th Anniversary of Independence) opens on the first day of the nationwide celebration of Independence anniversary.
– This soaring massive stele symbolizes the unprecedented rise of our country for the past quarter of a century and a desire to be among the thirty most developed countries in the world. Each of its 25 facets is a symbolic image of each year in the modern history of independent Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan has expressed confidence that the monument will take a special place among the country’s major architectural landmarks.
– It continues the unified historical line of the first Independence Monument opened in Almaty on Kazakhstan’s fifth anniversary, “Baiterek” monument, “Kazakh Eli” memorial complex standing for the capital city’s symbol and “Mangilik El” Arc de Triomphe, built for the 20th anniversary of Independence, the Head of the State said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has stated that the new attraction of Astana will be another place of pilgrimage for residents and guests.
– The monument’s symbolism is associated with its placement on the territory of “EXPO-2017” trade show, which is to be visited by millions of visitors, the President of Kazakhstan said.
The President also noted the capital city’s increasingly larger role in the progressive growth of independent Kazakhstan.
– In the future, Astana will bewilder not only us but the entire Eurasian continent as a whole; it will be the attraction center of science and culture, and people will live in a convenient and comfortable city, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that “Тәуелсіздіктің 25 жылдығы” monument is a gift for the whole country and its capital, expressing his appreciation to the authors of sketch ideas, architects and builders with the successful completion of the object.
In conclusion, the Head of the State congratulated all compatriots on the Independence anniversary and wished prosperity, peace and harmony.

Telephone conversations with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan
The leaders of Russia and Turkey congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and wished well-being and prosperity to Kazakhstan’s nation.
During the conversation with Vladimir Putin the matters of getting prepared for the forthcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the CSTO summit have been discussed.
During the talk with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed regret about the postponement of his visit to Astana, previously scheduled for December 12 the current year. The Turkish leader reiterated his willingness to visit Kazakhstan in the coming period.
Presidents of Russia and Turkey have discussed with the Kazakh President the hottest topics of regional and international agenda. The Russian and Turkish leaders expressed interest in holding peace negotiations in Astana of the conflicting parties in Syria. Nursultan Nazarbayev supported that initiative and announced his preparedness to provide a platform for such talks in the Kazakh capital.
The Head of the State has stressed that our country has initially supported international efforts aimed at the peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict.

Telegram of condolences to Gennady Zenchenko’s relatives and close friends upon his loss
The Head of the State with great sadness has learned of the grievous loss, and expressed heartfelt sympathy in relation to the passing of Gennady I. Zenchenko.
The message notes that over the course of many years of his working life he has devoted to the agricultural sector and contributed greatly to the country’s socio-economic development. G.Zenchenko has always been known for his great personal qualities, complete professionalism, rich work experience and dedication to the chosen business.
His achievements have been marked by “Қазақстанның Еңбек Ері” distinguished title and other state awards.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has emphasized that the bright memory of G.Zenchenko will always dwell with those who were familiar with him.

Visit to Almaty museum
During the visit the Head of the State got acquainted with the exposition of the new Almaty Museum, which is the largest research and cultural centre, representing the entire spectrum of the region’s historical and cultural heritage.
The Museum collection includes more than 40 thousand exhibits, among which are works of art, a unique collection of Kazakh ethnography, the collection of household items from different ages and cultures, numismatics and others.
The Museum exhibition consists of 11 Rooms, where with the use of multimedia technology Almaty’s history from ancient to modern times is shown.
