Meeting with John Watson, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron
During the talks, the sides discussed further cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chevron in the oil and gas sector.
The Head of State noted the effectiveness of joint implementation of projects in the industry and expressed his gratitude to John Watson for his contribution to this work.
– Kazakhstan has a special relationship with Chevron. We have been cooperating with you for more than a quarter of a century. I want to personally thank you for the joint work. We have built mutually beneficial cooperation with you, “said the President of Kazakhstan.
In turn, John Watson expressed gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for the opportunity to discuss the issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chevron, and exchange views on the prospects for their further development.
During the meeting, John Watson introduced the head of state Michael Wirth, who will take the position of chief executive officer of the company in February 2018.

Meeting with the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service and Anti-Corruption Kairat Kozhamzharov
During the meeting, Kairat Kozhamzharov reported to the Head of State on the results of the Agency’s activities for the 10 months of this year.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the importance of forming in society intolerance to manifestations of corruption.
– When adopting the law on combating corruption, I appealed to everyone, stating that there will be no indulgence to anyone, and no one can escape punishment if he committed corruption crimes. In recent years, a lot of work has been done in this direction, “the President of Kazakhstan said.
The head of state also stressed the need for rational and transparent use of budgetary funds.
Kozhamzharov informed Nursultan Nazarbayev about the measures taken to implement the anti-corruption policy and drew attention to the high assessment of its implementation by the international expert community.
– For 10 months of this year, 3,400 criminal cases were initiated, of which 1,000 cases were referred to courts. Out of KZT 15 bln of the damage caused, KZT 11 bln was returned to the state. Seizure of property for more than 7 billion tenge was imposed, “the Agency’s Chairman reported.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan gave a number of specific instructions.
